Exploring The Legal Process

Hello everyone! I'm Gael Phillips. It is nice to meet you. I'm here to talk to you about criminal laws, court proceedings and legal repercussions. I feel that sharing this knowledge is important, as many people do not realize how the legal process works. My first, and only, scrape with the law left me shaken. I did not know what to expect throughout the entire case, so I felt unprepared for the outcome. I hope to share my knowledge with people who are in need of support throughout the legal process. I will also post stories full of information about past legal cases for an idea about how the law works. The legal process doesn't need to be scary and mysterious. Sharing stories can give others the insight they need about their situation. Thanks for visiting, come back often!

3 Ways A Workers' Compensation Attorney Can Help You After A Claim Denial

Have you recently been injured at work or developed a work-related medical condition? If so, and if you're currently unable to work as a result, then you've probably gone through the process of filing for workers' compensation. Specifically, workers' compensation is in place to help you cover your related medical bills, lost wages, and other expenses until you're able to return to work. Unfortunately, many workers' compensation claims are initially denied; if this has happened to you, then you may want to retain the services of experienced workers' comp attorneys -- for a number of reasons.

1. Determine the Cause For Your Denial

One of the first things a workers' compensation attorney will be able to help you with is that of determining the cause for your claim denial. There are many different reasons as to why your claim may have been denied, from missing paperwork to processing errors. Your workers' compensation attorney will be able to look into your specific claim, find out the specific cause for denial, and help you determine whether or not you should file an appeal.

2. Resubmit Your Application

In the event that your denial was caused by a simple lack of paperwork or other documentation, you won't need to file a formal appeal. Instead, you'll probably just need to resubmit your application with the proper paperwork. This is another situation where a workers' compensation attorney will be able to assist you. He or she will determine which paperwork you still need and make sure all your required documentation is in order. Your attorney can also review your application before you resubmit it and potentially catch any additional errors before you resubmit the application.

3. Assist With the Formal Appeals Process

In the event that you need to go through a formal appeal to have your claim denial re-assessed, this is where having a workers' compensation attorney will really come in handy. An experienced workers' compensation attorney will be able to assist you through the often-complex appeals process, walking you through the necessary paperwork and even showing up to your appeals hearing to represent you as needed.

There are many reasons as to why your initial workers compensation claim may have been denied, so don't panic just yet. Instead, contact a local workers' compensation attorney to review your denial letter. From there, you can receive the guidance you need to figure out your best steps for moving forward.
